I will be tackling semilente soon. It was once widely available and many preferred it for short-acting bolus insulin (especially those using lente-type insulins) over R/neutral. I believe (will check) Novo still sells pork Semilente in Germany. It has an activity profile similar to R/neutral but is a "cloudy" insulin, so cannot be used intervenously (soluble).

BNF lists it but apparently no longer defines in as there's none on the market any longer. Merck still has a definition of it, so we can use this.
