We hope 21:23, 3 Jan 2006 (UTC) Am using the CP human TAPS for the remaining beef and pork insulins for dogs. We have canine TAPs for Caninsulin (pork lente) and also for Insuvet's Bovine Neutral, Lente & PZI, as well as Fleeman/Rand data for 90% beef, 10% pork PZI, which would correspond to the mix IDEXX has for PZI Vet. Using canine TAP information where available. Reasoning behind using human TAPS for the remainder is that a canine TAP on both bovine and porcine should be very similar to a human TAP, since bovine differs from human insulin in 3 amino acids; porcine by one.
Bovine insulin being more similar to feline insulin than it is to both human and canine, the onsets, peaks and durations should be shorter for cats. With the basic difference of 1 amino acid between canine and porcine insulin and human, these TAPS should not be terribly inaccurate.
