This is an Aventis mixed, intermediate-acting insulin comprised of 50% R/neutral and 50% NPH/isophane crystal insulin, one of its Insuman line of products.

Eli Lilly produces a comparable insulin: Humulin 50/50; they also formerly produced this insulin in the EU & UK under the brand name Humulin M5. M5 was discontinued in July 2004.

Novo Nordisk produces two: Actraphane 50/50 and Mixtard 50.
